Wat een verrassing gisteren, mij blog is deze week blog van de week bij het Quiltersgilde. Zo leuk en het gaf mij net even dat extra zetje om naast het handquilten ook weer iets anders op quiltgebied op te pakken. En nee, het werd niet een project waar ik al mee bezig was. Ik ben iets nieuws begonnen. 

A big surprise yesterdaymorning, I found out my blog was "blog off the week" at the site of our Quiltersguild (you can click the link in the Dutch text). So nice and it gave me just the extra push to do something quilty, apart from handquilting. And no, not a project I had already on the go, I started a new project. 

Dit boek en deze balipop had ik al een hele tijd in huis. De balipop speciaal gekocht voor dit patroon van mijn verjaardagsgeld in 2011. 

I had this book and the balipop for a while now. I bought the balipop with this pattern in mind back in 2011 with my birthday money. 

Het lastigste kwam eerst, alle stofjes verdelen over de diverse te maken blokken. Ik heb een voorlopige indeling gemaakt. Bij diverse patronen ben je halve strips nodig, dat gaat zich al doende nog wel verdelen. Mooi gezicht toch zo al die stroken op de tafel?

Met de strips gespeld in setjes per blok ben ik met het spul naar boven gegaan. Er moesten onderdelen gesneden worden en daarna genaaid. Na het avondeten ben ik ook nog weer naar boven verdwenen. Met dit als resultaat.

First came the tricky part. To chose the fabrics for each of the blocks. I devided the strips into sets for most of the blocks. In several blocks you need half strips so I guess I have to redivide when I am making the blocks. Isn't it a lovely sight having all those strips on the table? With the stripsets I went upstairs to the sewingroom, to cut parts and sew. I also went upstairs again after diner and had this as a first result. 

Het eerste blok voor deze sampler. Dit blok heeft als naam Tulip gekregen. Ziet er aardig netjes uit zo en ik ben helemaal blij met de kleuren. Op naar het volgende blok.
