Afgelopen donderdag op de quiltbijeenkomst hebben we weer vervolgstappen gekregen voor onze mysterie. Stap 7 was vorigemaand vergeten dus die komt er nu bij. Gistermorgen heb ik die stap afgemaakt. Ik was er vrijdag morgen direct meebegonnen.

Last Thursday we got 3 new steps of our mystery. Some how we didn't get step 7 last month as was planned so this month instead of 2 we got 3 steps. I started to do step 7 right away on Friday and finished it of yesterday morning.

Ook stap 8 heb ik al af, maar dat was gewoon driehoeken snijden uit de strepen sets van stap 2. Ik ben nu bezig met stap 9. Het in elkaar zetten van de delen begint nu.

I also finished step 8, but that was just cutting triangles out of the fabric strata's of step 2. I am now doing step 9. Putting together the pieces into a quilt has started now.

Alleen werd ik gisteren erg afgeleid. Ik zag op het blog van Inge haar kerstloper staan en bedacht me dat ik ook nog een pakketje kerst/wintercharms heb liggen. Gekocht op de tentoonstelling in Deventer in 2007. Ik vond de lapjes leuk, maar had geen idee wat ermee te doen. Ik heb ze twee aan twee donker en licht opelkaar gelegd. Genaaid, daarna uitgelegd op de bank. Daarbij heb ik verschillende manieren geprobeerd. Uiteindelijk is het dit geworden.

It is just I got distracted yesterday. I saw a nice christmastablecloth on Inge blog and thought about the charmpackage I had bought back in 2007. I liked the charms but had now clue what to do with them. So yesterday I have sown them into squares with a dark and light triangle and this is what it is now.

Ik heb tussen mijn kerststofjes gekeken of ik een geschikte randstof had. Niet dus, want de lapjes die ik heb, hebben meest grote prints. Nu vind ik de loper eigenlijk ook wel groot genoeg dus ik ben van plan om hem zo te quilten en dan gewoon af te biezen.

I looked through my Chrismas fabrics if I had a nice border fabric. Well I don't have one, I mostly have fabrics with big prints. Bought them before I quilted, just when I saw Christmas fabrics in the hobby store. They mostly got used to make cards. Have to think of a way to use them one day. But I think this piece is large enough as it is. I will sandwich and quilt it and then I will finally have a Christmas quilt.
